Renal calcium leak

Renal calcium leak is an uncommon cause of secondary hyperparathyroidism and kidney stones. In this condition, the kidneys release too much calcium into the urine, leading to high urine calcium and low blood calcium. The high urine calcium produces kidney stones, and the low blood calcium leads to a rise in PTH (secondary hyperparathyroidism).
